Details on Rick Ross’s Baby Mama’s Book, Tia’s Diary: Deeper Than Rap
As 50 Cent promised hip-hop fans, the mother of Rick Ross’s son, Tiallondra Kemp, will be releasing her memoirs next month and XXLMag.com has the details.
Set to drop on paperback for $14.95, Tia’s Diary: Deeper Than Rap, will be available in bookstores across the country as well as on Amazon.com on May 20.
In addition to Kemp’s story, the book will also include exclusive court transcripts, legal documents and never-before-seen photographs.
XXL recently spoke to Kemp to find out why she decided to put her life in writing, and it seems as if Ross will not only be the only topic of discussion. “The reason I felt that it would be interesting to write a book is because I have had a very big struggle in my life,” she said. “I grew up without a father, my mom was a single parent and it was very hard for her to raise six kids on her own. Being the oldest, I experienced a lot of things growing up, a lot of challenges in life that I went through. I got married young, I had two kids and after that I ended up getting in a another relationship.”
But fans hoping to read about Ross need not worry as Tia promises a lot of candid information about the Miami rapper. “When I met Ross he wasn’t a celebrity,” she explained. “There are a lot of things that I experienced in my life before I met Ross that was overwhelming or outrageous or just crazy. And there are a lot of things that we went through that I thought would be very interesting for people out in the world to hear.”

Dead Prez Discuss Green Lantern Mixtape, Upcoming Album
Gearing up for the summer release of the third volume of their independent mixtape series, Turn Off The Radio, dead prez spoke to XXLMag.com about linking up with DJ Green Lantern and his Invasion Music Group, as well as the direction of their next official album, Information Age, last night (April 28) at a New York listening session.
“[Green Lantern’s] developing a label and he’s got a new artist, Johnny Polygon, so he got a lot of big things poppin’ and we got our own independence. We don’t gotta ask nobody if we can do something so it was good opportunity, man,” said Stic.man of the partnership. “It definitely ain’t no pimpin’, so it’s all good.”
After several one-off collaborations and touring together on last year’s Rock The Bells festival, the duo also entrusted The Evil Genius with production reigns for the entirety of the mixtape. “That relationship with Green has been culminating for a minute and we pick carefully who to work with in order to touch down in the street,” said M1.
After wrapping the tape in February, the duo have been working on their next full-length album. “Information Age is a totally, totally different sound than we ever worked with,” said Stic.man. “It’s up-tempo, it’s new-age, it’s hard, it’s soulful, it’s experimental, and i1t’s about learning.The theme of the whole album is dealing with the age where you come into a knowledge of yourself which is a human thing — the point where you begin to challenge certain traditions. Certain shit don’t add up or make sense and you just start to question the answers a little more.”
“We got a song got called ‘Soakin’ Up Game’ which Common is actually working on right now,” he continued. “We literally wanna be able to attack things from where Let’s Get Free was at, but from a 2010 point of view.”
The duo looks to release the album by the end of the year, working currently to lock in distribution. However, a failure to do so would not deter M1, saying, “We’re gonna put it out regardless.”

Is that you, Beyonce? Star uses body double in Vienna
Beyonce must be taking her new song "Diva" to heart.
The starlet, who is in Vienna on tour, was just too busy to take a private tour of the city's famed Albertina Museum.
Even Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, two of the most high profile parents in Hollywood, made time to stop by on their recent trip.
Knowles sent a look-a-like to the museum, who posed with fans and the director, according to Austria's daily tabloids Oesterreich and Heute. Meanwhile, the singer was spotted shopping with her mom.
"We were a little doubtful," admitted museum spokeswoman Verena Dahlitz. "But [we] weren't really sure. It could have been her."
Looks like the Austrians won’t be "Obsessed" with Beyonce like the rest of the world.
On top of this stunt, Vienna papers reported that her concert met with very mixed reviews and was only half-full.

Rick Ross Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard 200 For Third Time
Rick Ross easily debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with "Deeper Than Rap" (Slip-N-Slide/Def Jam), shifting 158,000 in its first week. It's the third topper for the artist. His last set, 2008's "Trilla," bowed at No. 1 with 198,000 while 2006's "Port of Miami" also did the same, but with 187,000.
Ross bumps the "Hannah Montana: the Movie" soundtrack (Walt Disney) out of the top slot, as the Miley Cyrus-enhanced set slips to No. 2 with 104,000 (down 22%).
Depeche Mode notches its highest charting album since 1993 as "Sounds of the Universe" (Mute/Virgin/Capitol) bows at No. 3 with 80,000. The new set gives the veteran band its second-best rank ever on the chart. Its highest came when "Songs of Faith and Devotion" debuted at No. 1 in 1993. However, "Sounds of the Universe's" opening frame is actually the group's smallest debut sales week for a studio set since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. The act's last four studio offerings have all had opening weeks north of 92,000.
New rapper Asher Roth sees his "Asleep in the Bread Aisle" debut (SchoolBoy/Loud/SRC/Universal Motown) enter the list at No. 5 with 65,000. The set's lead single, "I Love College," peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 a little over a month ago.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" (Lyric Street) slides one spot to No. 4 with 68,000 (down 37%), the "Twilight" soundtrack (Summit/Chop Shop/Atlantic) falls two slots to No. 6 with 40,000 (down 19%), Lady GaGa's "The Fame" (Streamline/KonLive/Cherrytree/Interscope) moves up one position to No. 7 with 40,000 (up 9%), Day26's "Forever in a Day" (Bad Boy) slides six spots to No. 8 with 37,000 (down 67%) in its second week, the "Now 30" compilation (UMe) falls four places to No. 9 with 36,000 (down 19%) and Jadakiss' "The Last Kiss" (Ruff Ryders/D-Block/Roc-a-Fella/Def Jam) slips four rungs to No. 10 with 30,000 (down 32%).
Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending April 26) totaled 6.17 million units, up 3% compared to the sum last week (6.36 million) and down 10% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (6.86 million). Year to date album sales stand at 117.9 million, down 12% compared to the same total at this point last year (134.2 million).

Lil Wayne Sues Producer For Illegal Sampling
Weezy claims producer failed to get permission from folk singer for sample in 'I Feel Like Dying.'
Lil Wayne has been keeping the judicial system busy these days. Last Tuesday, a California judge threw out his lawsuit to block the release of a documentary on the rapper. Then on Thursday, Wayne appeared in a New York court to face a gun-possession charge stemming from a 2007 arrest.
Now The Associated Press is reporting that Wayne has filed a lawsuit against the producer of one of his songs, "I Feel Like Dying," that allegedly sampled another artist's work without permission.
The folk singer Karma-Ann Swanepoel had originally sued Wayne last year for copyright infringement, alleging that her song "Once" had been sampled illegally in "I Feel Like Dying."
Wayne's lawsuit alleges that Rebel Rock Productions Inc., which produced his song, was responsible for securing any necessary licensing agreements. Rebel Rock has not yet responded to Wayne's claims and does not have a lawyer named in papers filed with the court. The company's listed telephone number has been disconnected, according to the AP.
"I Feel Like Dying," has not been released on an album, but Wayne performed the song in concert, and it was circulated on the Internet. In March, he was ordered to turn over financial records for his 2008 album, Tha Carter III, which the publishing company behind "Once" claims was promoted in part through the online distribution of "I Feel Like Dying."
This latest suit is not Wayne's only copyright-infringement case. He's also being sued in Georgia by hip-hop producer Mali Boi, who alleges that he was the original producer of a song called "Crush," which he says was remade without permission into Wayne's hit "Mrs. Officer."
Wayne's gun-possession case was supposed to go to trail this month, but the New York judge has postponed its start after Wayne's lawyer filed a motion alleging an inconsistency between the accounts of the arresting officer and the detective who filed the original report. The next hearing is scheduled for May 20.
